SERVICE/LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM
It’s 2006, and time for us to begin this exciting program that we have been talking about for the last few months.  The first session will begin on February 1st, and run through April 12th. The second session will run from April 19th through June 28th.  We will be  meeting in the Sanctuary on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Each eleven week session will cover the following topics:

   * Team Building
   * Creating Community
   * Conflict Resolution
   * Developing Communication Skills
   * Expanding Interpersonal Skills

We will cover these topics with interactive games and exercises that are fun, informative, challenging, stimulating, creative and highly motivational.  You may, from time to time be asked to step outside of your comfort zone, but we believe that you will find yourself in a whole new zone...one where you are discovering wonderful new things about yourself, and other people here that you just thought you knew!!!

Each session will be made up of six groups of eight people, and you may sign up on a first come, first serve basis. (We have approximately 100 adult members and regular attendees who will need to participate in this program, so we will have a fall session if necessary.)  Please see Ann Zeller  after service, or call her at the office to sign up, Monday through Thursday, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

One exciting element of this program will be that we will be providing not just child care, but an actual program for our kids, while the adults are participating in the training program.  Several teachers from LCA will be working with the kids, assisted by some of our teenagers in an internship program.  We will be providing more details about this in upcoming  bulletins.
For those of you who are saying to yourself, “I’ve already done so much leadership training….”, we want to assure you that this will be unlike ANYTHING you have ever done before. For those of you who  might be   saying, “I don’t want to learn about service...I’m already too busy in my life”, or “I’ve already paid my dues”...we would, to some degree, agree with you.  You can’t train someone to be a servant, but we can all have our hearts and minds opened to how service enriches our lives. and brings us closer to God than almost anything else we can do.  Wasn’t Jesus first and foremost a servant himself?

So, please come an join us as together we all move in this time of renewal and reward.  2006 is the beginning of a new, excellent and exciting future here at GMI—don’t miss this first opportunity to be part of that.
