And The Bible Truth Revival Center, Nairobi, Kenya
In 1984, the Bible Truth Revival Church was founded by Reverend Stephen Waweru Mwangi, in Nairobi, Kenya, to meet the spiritual needs of an impoverished community. In 1990, Pastor Stephen was attending an evangelistic mission in India, and met Pastor Allen W. Cook, of Grace Ministries International (GMI). They were blessed with an instant place in one another’s hearts, and formed a partnership that has continued for over fifteen years.
This alliance of spirit and commitment has nurtured an exchange of culture and evangelism. It has resulted in an ever-deepening bond that has been to the benefit of both communities. With the financial sponsorship of GMI, The Bible Truth Revival Center has been able to expand its abilities to better serve the physical, financial, social and spiritual needs of a growing number of people. In a region plagued by AIDS, poverty, high crime, prostitution, and spiritual apathy, these needs are great.
The ministry has attended to some of these needs through their mother church, whose population has grown to over 800, their Christian Academy, with nearly 300 students, and through the 28 additional churches they have been able to plant.
It is the intention of both pastors and both churches, to continue to care for and nourish this wonderful partnership to insure that it will flourish and grow over many years to come.
